Desafíos y tensiones en el abordaje curricular de las problemáticas de Salud Mental dentro de la carrera de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL). Período 2022-2023

Abstract

El trabajo explora el lugar de la Salud Mental en el currículum de la carrera de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional del Litoral, con foco en las asignaturas “Crecimiento y Desarrollo” y “Nutrición” del primer año. Se analizan las perspectivas docentes sobre los desafíos en la transmisión de estos contenidos, reconociendo la creciente necesidad de formar médicos capaces de abordar problemáticas de Salud Mental. El estudio se apoya en tres seminarios de la Especialización en Docencia Universitaria y utiliza una metodología cualitativa, basada en entrevistas semiestructuradas a tres docentes con trayectorias diversas. Además, se emplea análisis documental del plan de estudios. La investigación busca comprender cómo se enseñan y se integran los contenidos de Salud Mental, atendiendo a su complejidad y su vínculo con el desarrollo humano, más allá de lo biológico. El trabajo se estructura en cuatro capítulos: el primero aborda la incorporación histórica de la Salud Mental al plan de estudios; el segundo, las estrategias de enseñanza y tutorías; el tercero, el análisis de entrevistas; y el cuarto, las conclusiones. Se destaca la importancia de una formación médica sensible a los aspectos psíquicos y sociales de la salud.

The paper explores the role of Mental Health in the curriculum of the Medicine program at the National University of the Litoral, focusing on the first-year courses “Growth and Development” and “Nutrition.” It analyzes the perspectives of faculty members regarding the challenges of teaching these contents, recognizing the growing need to train physicians capable of addressing Mental Health issues. The study is grounded in three seminars from the Specialization in University Teaching and employs a qualitative methodology, based on semi-structured interviews with three professors from diverse academic backgrounds. Additionally, it uses document analysis of the medical curriculum. The research seeks to understand how Mental Health content is taught and integrated, considering its complexity and connection to human development beyond the biological dimension. The work is structured into four chapters: the first addresses the historical inclusion of Mental Health in the curriculum; the second focuses on teaching strategies and tutoring spaces; the third presents an analysis of the interviews; and the fourth provides the conclusions. The study highlights the importance of medical training that is sensitive to the psychological and social aspects of health.
