Criterios de aplicación de técnicas de diagnóstico por imagen en cadáveres putrefactos

Abstract

El presente estudio titulado “Criterios de aplicación de técnicas de diagnóstico por imagen en cadáveres putrefactos” tiene como objetivo describir la contribución de los estudios por imagen en el análisis forense de cadáveres en estado de putrefacción, a partir de una revisión documental de investigaciones publicadas entre 2016 y 2024. Los resultados evidencian que las principales técnicas por imágenes utilizadas en contextos forenses son la tomografía computarizada post mortem (PMCT), la resonancia magnética post mortem (PMMR), la angiografía tomográfica computada post mortem (PMCTA), junto con radiografías simples y tecnologías de imagen superficial como la fotogrametría y el escaneo tridimensional (3DSS). Cada técnica presenta distintos grados de efectividad según la naturaleza de las lesiones y el estado del cuerpo, destacándose la PMCT por su rapidez y capacidad para evaluar estructuras óseas, y la PMCTA como la más eficaz en la detección de lesiones vasculares. Como recomendación se sugiere la incorporación de protocolos mixtos que integren la imagenología post mortem con la autopsia convencional, la formación especializada en radiología forense y la mejora en los sistemas de archivo de imágenes para su uso judicial. Este estudio reafirma la importancia creciente de las técnicas radiológicas para optimizar el análisis forense en cadáveres putrefactos, aportando mayor precisión y preservación de la evidencia.

The present study titled “Criteria for the Application of Studies imagen in Putrefied Cadavers” aims to describe the contribution of radiological studies in the forensic analysis of cadavers in a state of putrefaction, based on a documentary review of investigations published between 2016 and 2024. The results show that the main radiological techniques used in forensic contexts are post-mortem computed tomography (PMCT), post-mortem magnetic resonance imaging (PMMR), post-mortem computed tomography angiography (PMCTA), along with simple radiographs and surface imaging technologies such as photogrammetry and three-dimensional scanning (3DSS). Each technique presents different degrees of effectiveness depending on the nature of the injuries and the condition of the body, with PMCT standing out for its speed and ability to evaluate bone structures, and PMCTA as the most effective in detecting vascular injuries. As a recommendation, the incorporation of mixed protocols integrating post-mortem imaging with conventional autopsy, specialized training in forensic radiology, and improvements in image archiving systems for judicial use are suggested. This study reaffirms the growing importance of radiological techniques to optimize forensic analysis of putrefied cadavers, providing greater precision and preservation of evidence.
