Results of a research conducted in Rafaela City

Abstract

The current arcticle exposes the difficulties that Juvenile Justice’s System's institutions has to dialy overcome in Rafaela City, taking into account the Juvenile Criminal Procedure Code, in Santa Fe province. These reports were recovered through interviews made in the year 2023, under the framework of the “Investigation, Development and Innovation” project of the Science and Technology Secretary in the Santiago del Estero Catholic University (Universidad Católica de Santiago del Estero - UCSE) titled “Juvenile Crime Justice System: revisioning of the legal system in Santa Fe province". The qualitative perspective and the ethnographic tradition helped to the current study, which is not only a social but also a legal analysis of the Santa Fe’s Juvenile Crime Justice System’s functioning, according to the point of view of the people working in it. The results of this investigation evidenced not only all sort of elements to discuss about the necessity of a reform in the code and the requirement of a specialty in childhood and youth, but also the lack of articulation between the different system’s institutions. Taking into account the restlessnesses and necessities exposed by the people who were interviewed, it has been made an analysis of the principal points of discussions that are introduced by the new code reform.
