Evaluación del efecto de Panax ginseng combinado con un sellador interno de pezones en la terapia selectiva para vaca seca

Resumo

Se evaluó el efecto de Panax ginseng (Pg) y un sellador interno de pezones en una terapia selectiva para prevenir infecciones intramamarias (IIM) y curar IIM por Staphylococcus no aureus (SNA) al secado. La unidad experimental fue el cuarto mamario (n=140), divididos en: Grupo 1 (G1): cuartos libres de IIM, y Grupo 2 (G2): cuartos positivos a SNA. A los mismos se los dividió en dos subgrupos y se aplicó al secado Pg + sellador (G1Pg+S y G2Pg+S) o solo sellador (G1S y G2S). Se tomaron muestras de leche al posparto de todos los cuartos y las mismas fueron examinadas microbiológicamente. No se encontraron asociaciones estadísticas entre el secado y el posparto independientemente del tratamiento recibido (P=0,442). Del análisis de nuevas IIM al posparto se obtuvieron resultados similares para ambos grupos (P=0,397), obteniéndose valores de 25,8 y 19 % de cuartos con nuevas IIM para los G1Pg+S y G1 S, respectivamente. Del análisis sobre nuevas IIM por SNA se obtuvo un 75% de cura en los cuartos del G2Pg+S y G2S (P=0,999). El efecto del tratamiento de Pg+S para eliminar IIM por SNA al secado fue similar a la aplicación de sellador solo.
