Academic stress is a widespread phenomenon in the first years of university, with the highest levels manifested around taking exams, academic overload, the exposure of work in class and difficulties in managing study time with everyday life. Currently, complementary strategies are available to the traditional psychopedagogical support for coping with these stressors. Mindfulness, with constant monitoring and practice, is associated with the development of emotional regulation skills, which help to produce conscious learning and therefore a potential individual and collective well-being of students. The present work consisted of implementing a workshop on mindfulness-based interventions in the curriculum of the second semester of the second year of Veterinary Medicine at the Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, to allow students to manage academic stress by enhancing their emotional competencies. Likewise, the aim was to evaluate the feasibility, acceptance, and impact of a culturally adapted group intervention for university students of this career. The offer of this type of intervention could reduce psychological distress during university life.
