The year 2020 was the year that the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, which meant that all educational, research and outreach activities have been developed virtually. This situation, which caused many complexities in various areas of life, created a favorable environment for the Latin American community interested in Statistical Education, to be able to find themselves at a distance to be able to exchange classroom experiences, teachings, learning and research results focused on the Statistical Education. The means for this meeting were the Argentine Conference on Statistical Education and the Latin American Conference on Research in Statistical Education. In this work we present a brief description of the activities carried out and mainly, we comment on the main conclusions that were obtained, from which different work projects have been generated among this learning community that are presented as the closing of this article.
Gabriela Pilar Cabrera, Liliana Mabel Tauber

https://bibliotecavirtual.unl.edu.ar/publicaciones/index.php/Yupana/article/view/10827

This work is part of the first phase of a design investigation for which a task was developed for university students. The designed task addresses a complex, multivariate, social phenomenon that is analyzed through dynamic bubble charts. The design of the task and the content analysis focused on the facets of Civic Statistics. The fundamental statistical ideas linked to it correspond to the notions of data, distribution, variation and correlation. Task analysis denotes the conceptual and fundamental power that can enrich a teaching aimed at forming citizens and future statistically literacy professionals.
Lorena Guglielmone

https://bibliotecavirtual.unl.edu.ar/publicaciones/index.php/Yupana/article/view/10826

This article aims to analyze the Tactile Model (MT) based on the perspective of Universal Design for Learning (DUA). MT is composed of pieces and Jefferson’s Random Walks Teaching Sequence (SE–PAJ), which addresses the concept of chance. The theoretical discussion was developed in two stages, from which in this article was evaluated only the third task of SE–PAJ and the pieces involved. The analytical categories of first stage were the checkpoints of three guidelines of principle 1, and in the second stage, only the guidelines of principles 2 and 3. The results seem to indicate that this task and the pieces satisfactorily meet the principles and guidelines of the DUA to approach the concept of chance. For example, the guideline «Clarify terminology and symbols» was included because before the development of this task, students had possibility to experience situations in previous tasks which promoted familiarization with the terminology, emphasizing the use of terms such chance instead probability, and is also associated with the concept of fair. It is expected that this article will contribute to studies involving the proposition of teaching materials from the perspective of DUA and, therefore, support a more realistic and integrative inclusion of all students.
Verônica Yumi Kataoka, Aida Carvalho Vita, Irene Mauricio Cazorla

https://bibliotecavirtual.unl.edu.ar/publicaciones/index.php/Yupana/article/view/10825

The curricular guidelines and basic standards of mathematics in Colombia, through the Ministry of Education, consider the teaching of statistics and probability from primary basic education, evolving conceptually through secondary and middle school. The presence of the stochastic ideas highlighted by Shaughnessy (2019) is analyzed in this study: distributions, centralization, variability and inference, as the four fundamental stochastic ideas, throughout all compulsory education. Using the content analysis methodology, it is possible to identify the stochastic ideas present in the curricular guidelines of each level of basic and secondary education. An emphasis was found on concepts associated with big ideas about statistical distributions and informal inference. However, when appearing as concepts, no relationships are established between these and the activities, processes and contexts that stimulate the development of stochastic reasoning from primary basic education.
Dicleny Castro Carvajal, Antonio Moreno Verdejo
