Abstract

In this article, we study the sixth eclogue in order to clarify three points: 1) the value of the carmen contained in the poem; 2) the internal continuitas of the song; 3) the influence of these two points on the composition of Ovid's Metamorphoses. The carmen points out the Apollonian origin and the original sense of all poetry. It is based on the aptitude of the stories to be chained through a continuitas which, thematically and structurally, will have an influence on the Metamorphoses by transmitting to this work the ideas of carmen, ludus and highlighted passages.
