Abstract

The present work analyzes the concept of μῦθος, ἔπος and song in the field of Homeric Epic in the perspective of an hypothesis which considers them as words or signs of a poetic theory about ἔπος, in which the mimetic aspects turn out essentials. The genetic process of poetry issues from an oral communication between the Poet and the Muse, a way of communication that contributes to the compositive and structural design of Iliad as well of Odyssey in accordance with the function of memory and with the expansion of proper technic of the epic vocalization.
