Lamentos, sollozos y lágrimas: la (auto)caracterización de Antía en Efesíacas de Jenofonte de Éfeso.

La retórica juega un papel fundamental en la novela griega. En Efesíacas las intervenciones monológicas, en estilo directo, de la protagonista femenina son numerosas y siempre dejan entrever una clara deuda con los moldes retóricos que sustentan la descripción del carácter de los personajes, la etopeya. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar en qué medida los soliloquios de Antía se adecuan a las reglas establecidas por la teoría de los rétores. Para ello, nos fijaremos en qué momento de la acción se producen y, de modo especial, dónde tienen lugar, dado el valor narrativo significante de determinados espacios físicos en la novela griega, con el fin de determinar si las intervenciones etopéyicas de Antía son un mero tópico y recurso literario, o bien resultan un elemento que integra el avance del relato.
