Neoplasias malignas primarias múltiples sincrónicas: linfoma Hodgkin y adenocarcinoma de recto. Informe de caso.

Abstract

Multiple primary malignant neoplasms are a rare condition in which two or more primary malignancies occur in the same individual. Those discovered simultaneously or within less than 6 months of each other are called synchronous. This report describes a 54-year-old male in whom a palpable mass was found on rectal examination and peritoneal infiltrates were detected by CT scan. A biopsy of the rectal mass revealed a moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma of the lower rectum, and a biopsy of infiltrates showed involvement by Hodgkin's lymphoma. There are few reported cases of these synchronous tumors.
