La dimensión afectiva de la injusticia epistémica. Un análisis a partir de la ira

Abstract

La presente tesina tiene como tema nuclear el estudio de la dimensión afectiva de la injusticia epistémica, centrándose en el potencial de la ira para el abordaje de la noción en cuestión. Su propósito es abordado a partir de tres objetivos planteados de modo consecutivo en su desarrollo. En primer lugar, se procura un examen crítico de la relevancia que Fricker otorga a los recursos afectivos en su teoría de la injusticia epistémica desarrollada en su obra principal Epistemic Injustice. Power and the Ethics of Knowing (2007). En segundo lugar, se dilucida cuál es la concepción de las emociones que se encuentra subyacente a la teoría de la “injusticia epistémica”. En tercer lugar, se introduce la noción de “ira” con la finalidad de evaluar el potencial epistémico -y, al mismo tiempo, emancipatorio- que tiene dicha noción en contexto de discusión de la injusticia epistémica. El abordaje de los tres objetivos busca demostrar, en primer lugar, que existe una concepción amplia e integral de las emociones presente en la teoría de Fricker (2007) la cual integra elementos de varias tradiciones filosóficas, tales como el cognitivismo, la tradición aretaica de corte neo-aristotélico, y la epistemología feminista. En segundo lugar, se procura destacar que el análisis de la teoría de la injusticia epistémica desde un abordaje de las emociones, y en particular de la ira, logra enriquecer y ampliar el marco de Fricker.

The central theme of this thesis is the study of the affective dimension of epistemic injustice, focusing on the potential of anger to address the notion in question. Its purpose is addressed through three objectives, consecutively presented in its development. First, it undertakes a critical examination of the relevance Fricker gives to affective resources in his theory of epistemic injustice, developed in his main work, “Epistemic Injustice: Power and the Ethics of Knowing” (2007). Second, it elucidates the conception of emotions that underlies the theory of "epistemic injustice." Third, it introduces the notion of "anger" to assess the epistemic—and, at the same time, emancipatory—potential of this notion in the context of the discussion of epistemic injustice. The approach to the three objectives seeks to demonstrate, first, that there is a broad and comprehensive conception of emotions present in Fricker's theory (2007), which integrates elements from several philosophical traditions, such as cognitivism, the neo-Aristotelian aretaic tradition, and feminist epistemology. Second, it seeks to highlight that the analysis of the theory of epistemic injustice from an emotional perspective, and anger in particular, succeeds in enriching and expanding Fricker's framework.
