Desarrollo de una App Web para un rápido diagnóstico de limitantes en tambos

Abstract

La producción de leche en Argentina se encuentra estancada en los últimos 20 años. La cantidad de tambos se redujo significativamente y la cantidad de vacas lecheras también, aunque en menor medida. Como consecuencia, los tambos incrementaron su tamaño, aproximadamente 50%, en los últimos 20 años. Este aumento en la cantidad de vacas por tambo no estuvo acompañado con inversión suficiente en infraestructura lo cual genera problemas en el bienestar de los animales y en las condiciones laborales de las personas que trabajan en el tambo, reduciendo la eficiencia productiva y económica de la actividad lechera. Existen aspectos de infraestructura y de manejo que afectan la productividad y la rentabilidad de un sistema lechero. Es importante detectar estos factores para poder corregirlos y mejorar los resultados de un tambo. El objetivo de este proyecto es desarrollar una aplicación para teléfonos móviles (App web) que permita realizar un rápido diagnóstico de aquellos factores que afectan la producción de leche. Se seleccionarán diferentes parámetros a relevar relacionados a la producción de leche. Se construirá una escala para cuantificar cada parámetro y se desarrollará una aplicación Web que podrá utilizarse desde teléfonos móviles. Esta innovación permitirá detectar los principales factores que limitan la productividad en el tambo para que productores, en conjunto con asesores, puedan direccionar las inversiones necesarias para incrementar la productividad y rentabilidad de sus sistemas lecheros.

Milk production in Argentina has not grown in the last 20 years. The number of dairy farms was significantly reduced together with the number of cows, although, the latter, to a lesser extent. As a result, dairy farms increased in size, approximately 50%, in the last 20 years. This increase in the number of cows per farm was not accompanied by sufficient investment in dairy facilities which generates problems in animal welfare and affects working conditions of people in the farm, reducing productive and economic efficiency of the dairy activity. Infrastructure and management are important factors related to the productivity and profitability of a dairy system. It is important to detect limitations on these factors in order to correct them and improve the results of a dairy farm. The objective of this project is to develop an application for mobile phones (Web App) that allows for a rapid diagnosis of those factors that may affect milk production. Different parameters related to milk production will be selected to be surveyed on farm. A quantitative scale will be created to quantify each of the surveyed parameters. An App web for mobile phones will be developed to rank each parameter and detect those that are distant from their optimal value. This innovation will allow to detect the main factors that might be limiting productivity in the dairy farm; thus, farmers together with their advisors can better decide which investments are necessary in order to increase the productivity and profitability of their dairy systems.
