Territorialidade estatal e análise socioespacial: Uma revisão crítica e aplicada do marco TREL

Este artigo examina o marco teórico TREL (território, escala, rede e lugar), desenvolvido por Jessop, Brenner e Jones (2008), como ferramenta analítica nos estudos urbanos e regionais. A partir de uma revisão crítica da bibliografia especializada, e no contexto dos giros espaciais nas ciências sociais, o TREL emerge como uma abordagem multidimensional que busca superar visões reducionistas do espaço. O estudo situa sua análise na tradição do materialismo crítico e da geografia radical, com referências a autores como Lefebvre, Harvey e Smith. Metodologicamente, é empregado um levantamento bibliográfico complementado por estudos de caso empíricos, incluindo a infraestrutura portuária de Buenos Aires, o ensino do urbanismo por meio da cartografia reflexiva e o planejamento metropolitano na Grande Rosário. Argumenta-se que o TREL oferece ferramentas úteis para examinar as relações socioespaciais, mas também apresenta limitações, como a possível rigidez de sua estrutura metodológica e o risco de reificação da forma espacial. Para enfrentar essas questões, discute-se a integração de abordagens complementares, como a Teoria Ator-Rede e a concepção da escala como processo de corporalização. Conclui-se que o TREL continua sendo uma abordagem válida para o estudo da espacialidade estatal e da reconfiguração urbana, embora exija ajustes para captar a dinamicidade do espaço social em tempos de transformação política, econômica e ecológica.
