The aim of this work was to report records of Amblyomma triste from new locations in Buenos Aires province, as well as on new hosts. Between September 2021 and February 2023, free-living ticks and those collected from hosts (companion animals and humans) were collected in the districts of General Lavalle, La Costa and Villa Gesell (Buenos Aires province). A total of 244 specimens of A. triste and 133 of Rhipicephalus sanguineus sensu stricto were collected. Amblyomma triste was found in General Lavalle (district of General Lavalle), San Clemente, Santa Teresita, Mar del Tuyú, Costa del Este, Costa Azul, Mar de Ajó (district of La Costa).and Villa Gesell (district of Villa Gesell). Two A. triste nymphs were found parasitizing a cat and a human. Amblyomma triste is a tick species of great relevance in public health since it is a vector of Rickettsia parkeri, the human rickettsiosis with the highest incidence in Argentina. This report is an alert for the community in order to implement preventive measures to prevent infestation by this parasite and reduce the risk of transmission of R. parkeri.
