Resumen

El marco del Indo Pacífico ha ganado relevancia en las últimas décadas pasando a ocupar fuerte centralidad geopolítica para los Estados Unidos de América, Europa y los países del Océano Índico, posicionándose inclusive como una narrativa alternativa a la de la nueva Franja y la Ruta de la Seda. El objetivo y la contribución de este escrito es presentar una breve revisión introductoria en español sobre la emergencia y proliferación del marco del Indo Pacífico; indicar y contextualizar la re-centralización geoeconómica del Océano Índico; e introducir una serie de impresiones acerca de la postura externa, el rol y los desafíos que se le presentan a la India en este contexto. Se le da relevancia a elementos geo-históricos relativos al Océano Índico y a dinámicas geopolíticas y geoeconómicas contemporáneas en torno al Océano Índico y a la India. Se hace uso de mapas explicativos y se introduce una revisión de autores y documentos oficiales tanto de la India y como otros países de Asia del Sur y de Occidente.

Licenciado en Economía por la Universidad de Buenos Aires, Magíster en Economía y Desarrollo Industrial por la Universidad Nacional de General Sarmiento y Doctor en Economía por la Universidad Federal de Río de Janeiro (UFRJ, Brasil). Es docente-investigador en la Universidad Nacional de Quilmes (UNQ) y en la Universidad Nacional de Chilecito (UNdeC). Además, es co-coordinador del grupo de trabajo sobre Asia del Sur en el Consejo Argentino para las Relaciones Internacionales (CARI).
