Abstract

The article addresses the proposals related to the Labor Education and Training Program of the Secretary of Extension and Culture of the National University of the Coast, which began in 1929. Towards its 95th anniversary, the current situation of the Program is provided: the thematic lines of training, the importance of institutional links, their articulations with public and private sectors and some data is provided regarding the profiles of the students as well as the choices between the offers offered.
Addressing the issue of education and training in trades from the University, specifically from the substantive function of extension, implies thinking about it, on the one hand, from the orbit of social commitment and at the same time, as a trainer of social subjects.
