This review refers to a very interesting investigation that was edited in 2019 and represents an important contribution for universitary extension. The book Culture, nation and people: universitary extension at UNAM (1910–2015) provides with valuable historical information, encourages critical analysis and invites to action. In it, Agustín Cano Menoni shows the richness and diversity of extensionist conceptualizations and practices in such a way that readers may actually get into the Mexican extension reality, while approaching to the Latin American tradition as a whole and obtaining clues to inquire the everyday universitary work. With no more intention than to excite a full reading of the book, this article exposes some notes, questions and ideas that the volume inspires, concerning agents and relationships in universitary extension.
