El «teatro ecoacústico» de David Monacchi: motivación proambiental con fundamento en la psicología moral

Teniendo en cuenta que uno de los factores principales que garantizó las condiciones de posibilidad de la enfermedad zoonótica causante de la pandemia aún vigente, a saber, la COVID–19, ha sido la influencia antrópica en los ecosistemas naturales —concretamente, el circuito de caza y comercialización de animales silvestres que favoreció la emergencia del SARS–CoV–2—, cobra especial importancia la búsqueda de perspectivas éticas en clave ambiental que permitan favorecer una motivación proambiental colectiva. Uno de los mayores problemas que enfrenta dicha búsqueda, reside en nuestra psicología moral. A la luz de eticistas contemporáneos como Peter Singer, existe una suerte de punto ciego en la moral que obstaculiza el compromiso para con el estado de degradación actual de los ecosistemas naturales, particularmente por parte de los habitantes de las grandes concentraciones urbanas donde ese tipo de medioambientes naturales suelen ser abstracciones ajenas a su experiencia cotidiana. Frente a la urgencia de hallar nuevas maneras de favorecer la motivación proambiental desde un punto de vista que contemple los obstáculos psicológicos recién mencionados, en este artículo se argumentará que las grabaciones de campo de ambientes naturales, reproducidas de una manera que sea tanto inmersiva como exploratoria y creativa, podrían generar una interpelación de tipo moral en el auditorio en relación con la condición actual de los ecosistemas naturales. Para realizar este análisis, nos centraremos particularmente en las características de la experiencia ofrecida por el «teatro ecoacústico» del artista e investigador David Monacchi.
