Abstract

This article presents a quantitative description
of the foreign language teacher education system
at college in Argentina with the aim of mapping its
current configuration and giving an account of some
of its specific characteristics. For this purpose, we will
present some quantitative data such as the number of
teacher training colleges, their differentiated presence
in the various jurisdictions, offered education, and statistics
related to students, among others. We will also provide some interpretative coordinates to explain the
hegemony of English in this field at a time when plurilingual
perspectives prevail in the academic world of
foreign languages.
