This article is intended to give an account
for a research work carried out within the framework
of the 2014 Call of Instituto Nacional de Formación
Docente (the Argentine Institute for Teacher Training).
It addresses both the devices used at Instituto Superior
de Profesorado Nr. 6 (Higher institute for teacher education
Teachers - ISP Nr. 6, for its Spanish Initials) and
political praxis of teachers. This research was postulated
within an institutional context in which spaces for training
and political action and the opportunities to systematically
problematize and thematize those issues were
scarce and in which the following questions-problems
became relevant: Which are the ISP Nr. 6 devices that
teachers consider as already working in their political
praxis at that institute? Which characteristics of the
devices do they recognize? How do teachers assess
those devices? Paulo Freire's work was selected as a
theoretical framework; and contributions from Institutional
Analysis, Social Psychology, and Functional
Systemic Linguistics were gathered. It was descriptive
research, characterized by qualitative data collection
and analysis methods and tools. The obtained results
show that the teachers of the aforementioned institute
recognize several political training and action devices
and that the latter are assigned different features and
values by each teacher.
