Editorial Committee

The Editorial Committee is the scientific control body of the journal and is ultimately responsible for the published material. One representative from each Arquisur participating country integrates it. It ultimately decides on the material to be published in the magazine. Members:

Dr. Arch. Miguel Ángel Barreto

FAU/UNNE – Argentina

Architect, Master and Doctor in Social Anthropology. Head Professor at Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning of the National University of the Northeast (FAU/UNNE) His expertise is social habitat and territorial and urban planning. He is a teacher of master's and doctoral degrees, an Independent scientific researcher of CONICET and a Category 1 Researcher of the Incentives Program. He directed the Housing Research and Development Institute of FAU/UNNE. He promoted the creation of the Research Institute for Territorial Development and Human Habitat, a dual dependency institute CONICET-UNNE. Dean of FAU/UNNE. Director of the publication Cuaderno Urbano. He has been directing research projects since 2003. He has published books, chapters and articles in accredited national and foreign magazines and presented papers at numerous conferences. He has given talks and conferences in various areas, guides researchers, scholarship holders, thesis students and research staff. He has obtained several scientific and professional awards and distinctions as well as coordinated work teams transferred to the public sector.

Dr. Arch. Ethel Pinheiro Santana

FAU/UFRJ – Brasil

Architect and Urban Planner, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Federal University of Rio do Janeiro (FAU / UFRJ), competitive since 2006. Graduated with Magna Cum Laude (2001), Master in Architecture (2004) and Doctorate in Architecture (2010), both from the Post-Graduation Program in Architecture (Proarq / UFRJ). Editorial Coordinator of Proarq / UFRJ since 2014, Editor-in-Chief of the CADERNOS PROARQ Newspaper since 2014, Publications Coordinator of the FAU/UFRJ (2014-2018) and current Coordinator of Final Graduation Projects since 2018. She acts as a teacher in graduation and postgraduate studies (Proarq/UFRJ) and as an ad hoc evaluator in promotion bodies. Member of Scientific Committees, Advisor on various Evaluation Committees, accumulated awards in architecture competitions - among them the “Opera Prima/IAB” of 2001. She is interested in the following areas: urban atmospheres, urban design, memory, sensitive spaces, contemporary cities and urban culture.

Dr. Arch. María Eugenia Pallarés Torres

FADU/UCh – Chile

PhD in Architecture and Master in Management of Construction and Real Estate Companies from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), Architect and Dip. of Specialization in Project Evaluation at the University of Chile (UCh). Academic at Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning of the University of Chile (FADU/UCh), where she teaches undergraduate and graduate, research and extension. She has participated in postgraduate teaching at the UPM, at National University of La Plata (UNLP), at Anahuac University and National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She is a member of the International Advisory Committee of EURE Magazine and evaluator of the CIT and ESTOA magazines.

FADU/UdelaR – Uruguay

He is an architect from the University of the Republic (UdelaR), Uruguay, and a Doctor in Theory and Practice of Architectural Projects from the Higher Technical School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSA / UPM). He works as a Head Professor at the Design Institute of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism (FADU/UdelaR), and carries out undergraduate, postgraduate and research teaching tasks in the area of ​​Project and Representation of Architecture, with emphasis on logics of project thinking and the phenomenology of interior space. His Doctoral Thesis “Altered Scales. The manipulation of scale as a trigger for the design process” has obtained the First International Research Prize at the XIX Pan-American Architecture Biennial in Quito in 2014.

FADU/UNL– Argentina

Architect (UCSF, 1982). Full-time Ordinary Professor (type B, with professional qualification) of subjects of Project, Theory and Criticism of architecture and the contemporary city at the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urban Planning of the National University of the Litoral (FADU/UNL) since its creation in 1985. Undergraduate and postgraduate teacher at national universities of Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Nordeste (UBA, UNC y UNNE), and foreign universities of Utah (USA), San Luis Potosí, Michoacana and Yucatán (Mexico), IAU-USP and FAU-USP (Brazil), UdelaR (Uruguay) and KU-Leuven (Belgium). Researcher (category II), project director, network member and evaluator member of different university commissions. Professional registered at the College of Architecture and Urbanism of the Province of Santa Fe (CAUPSF), member in different periods of the Body of Juries and the Body of Competition Advisors of District 1 of said College. Part-time independent professional practice of equipment and housing works with awards and mentions in national competitions. Former professional in charge of the Urban Plan Coordination of the Planning Secretariat of the Municipality of the City of Santa Fe, Argentina.

The Technical Editorial Director is the manager of the Open Journal System electronic platform of the Virtual Library of UNL, the site where the publication is hosted. It is responsible for the administration of the editorial process, including arbitration and communication with authors and referees, and for respecting the anonymity and confidentiality of all instances thereof. Submit the refereed material to the Editorial Committee for a final decision on its publication. Manages the publication's indexing, maintains databases and metadata, and informs the Editorial Committee of general news.
