The increasingly extended presence of video cameras in different public spaces and in the private sphere is a sign of a more extensive transformation in the shape and type of records that are being produced by the audiovisual turn.
The work aims at analyzing three examples to debate about the challenges that the Audiovisual Archives face in this context. Based on the social value of these new images, the analysis proposes some difficulties and incipient examples of Archives working on lines that follows this expansion of audiovisual contents. It also proposes a reflection on the role that scientific organisms and universities can achieve in this line.
