The present article analyzes linguistic forms of negative and silence in autofiction called La resistencia (2018) (translated as Resistance), by Julián Fuks, as distancing procedures facing the trauma of the latest Argentinean dictatorship and exile. This distancing is presented in relation with History and familiar history in the novel, due to the eldest son of the family has been adopted during de dictatorship, before the exile in Brazil. Because of that the question about the origin of that child is now a taboo topic. Besides, there are silences in the familiy about father and mother’s political militancy. The difficulty of talking about this traumatic aspects is yuxtaposed with those two aspects that make the representation problem goes deep: taboo topic and familiar secret. Therefore, discourse becomes a symptom: it elides and deny as distancing face the horror, but at the same time exhibits part of that trauma.
