Andréa Kochhann is a Brazilian researcher who has dedicated herself to the study of teacher training and university extension in Brazil. In his doctoral thesis in Education, he examined the perspectives and limits of university extension as a possibility of critical and emancipatory practice in the training of teachers of the Pedagogy course at the State University of Goiás, establishing dialogues between the state of the art, historicity , the legality and the conceptions of university extension in Brazil that affect teacher training.
The author addresses the history of the university worldwide, in Latin America and, specifically, in Brazil, pointing out that in Latin America and the Caribbean the university assumes the functions of teaching, research and extension. The work focuses on the Brazilian university extension, covering its historicity, legality and its conceptions. Furthermore, it reflects on the practice of university extension and its epistemological meanings.
