Articulation between Secondary School and Higher Education. The experience of the 2019’s Nexos Program at School Nr. 511 ‘Juana Azurduy’ in the city of Santa Fe, Argentina

Education is the social practice that allows
and promotes the acquisition of skills, knowledge, and
the broadening of both individual and collective horizons. The Argentine Education System comprises the
following levels: initial, primary, secondary, and higher
education; the last year of initial level being mandatory
as well as the following two levels. Higher Education
includes state or private (authorized) universities and
university institutes –in accordance with the denomination established by Act Nr. 24521– and national and
provincial higher education institutes under public or
private management. Articulation between secondary
school and higher education has been fully analyzed in
many recent investigations. In this context, the Nexos
Program arises, which is a tool that organizes joint
action areas between higher education institutions and
secondary schools. It is promoted by the Secretary for
University Policies of Argentina through the Regional
Boards of Higher Education Planning. The program was
first issued in 2016 and it started to be implemented
in Santa Fe in 2018. The present work is intended to
give an account of that experience in 2019 as regards
the case of School Nr. 511 ‘Juana Azurduy’ in Santa
Fe (Argentina).
