Abstract

In Argentina, the study of oral academic/
scientific genres constitutes a quite unaddressed issue
in linguistic research and, accordingly, in students’ education.
In this work, we propose to describe −following
the methodology for the analysis of textual architecture
developed by Bronckart (2004, 2013)− a corpus made
up of final oral exams and presentation scripts produced
by first year students who attended the course ‘Practice
of oral and written communication’ in 2017 and 2018
(Faculty of Humanities and Sciences of Universidad
Nacional del Litoral). The analysis of the corpus reveals
that presentation script constitutes not only a pre-text,

which is a version or textual planning of an oral presentation,
but also a text itself in the study activity
with a social-discursive plan and a value of its own.
Its conceptualization as an internal regulation device
(Schneuwly and Bain, 1998) in the metalinguistic
activity (Campos and Milian, 2000), oral in this case,
supports the potential of being a teaching object within
the didactics of «writing».
